Each week over the next few weeks I’ll be releasing a sewing kits for hand sewing and machine sewing, as well as video tutorials on my Youtube that can be followed to make the project! Any kids who need extra help can also schedule time to video chat with me and solve problems.
I am now taking orders for my Week 3 project, a super cute Owl Pillow/Stuffie! This project will introduce kids to stitching tricky curves on their own and we create the Owl’s face/wings through a technique called applique! Pick up for this project will begin Monday 4/6. You will get an email notifying you of pick up and I will also post to Facebook/Instagram that pick up is available. No kits will be shipped to avoid unnecessary strain on the postal system/myself.
Due to social distancing, all pick ups are placed on the stoop at the studio in a bin for you to grab from. Your name will be on your order. Let’s keep each other safe!
Each kit includes fabric for the owl’s body, assorted fabric for the wings, felt for the nose and eyes. I am checking at the studio to see if I can include buttons as eyes for everyone, but they may end up being solid pieces of felt depending on what I have. You will need a sewing machine, a glue stick, thread, pins, and scissors. I apologize, but at this time I don’t have enough stuffing to include in everyone’s kit. An iron is very helpful, but not 100% necessary. Your kids use the iron at the studio while supervised, and it’s many of the kids’ favorite tool, so maybe let them try it at home, too!
There will be a video for this project posted to my new Youtube channel on Monday 4/6.
