Each week over the next few weeks I’ll be releasing a sewing kits for hand sewing and machine sewing, as well as video tutorials on my Youtube that can be followed to make the project! Any kids who need extra help can also schedule time to video chat with me and solve problems.
I am now taking orders again for my Week 1 project, a Pillowcase. While the construction of this pillowcase is a bit different, we achieve really pretty finished seams and a clean inside when we use a technique called ‘the burrito method’ to sew! Pick up will begin Monday 3/30. You will get an email notifying you of pick up and I will also post to Facebook/Instagram that pick up is available. No kits will be shipped to avoid unnecessary strain on the postal system/myself.
Due to social distancing, all pick ups are placed on the stoop at the studio in a bin for you to grab from. Your name will be on your order. Let’s keep each other safe!
Choose from 3 precut kits to make your pillowcase. Kits include the fabric and a piece of tracing paper for you to create your pattern on. Let’s do a little geometry and make our own patterns! You will need a sewing machine, thread, pins, scissors, and a pencil and a ruler to create your pattern. An iron is very helpful, but not 100% necessary. Your kids use the iron at the studio while supervised, and it’s many of their favorite tools here, so maybe let them try it at home, too!
