Old Spool After School Teen Fashion Sewing is open to kids from 8th grade through High School, this course is focused on getting your teen started sewing their own clothing.
This class takes places Thursdays from 4:15-5:30 and begins 4/4 for the Early Spring Session.
In this 6 week course your teen will learn all the basics and create a pair of pajama pants and a cozy raglan sleeved sweatshirt! Learning how clothes are constructed is an important skill for teens with an interest in fashion design as well as excellent for those who have a penchant for expressing themselves through their style. Do they want to study fashion in college, maybe at FIT or Parsons? It’s essential they know how to sew and how garments are constructed. Julia, the owner of Old Spool, holds a BFA in fashion design from Parsons the New School for Design and loves to inspire younger sewists to learn how to sew their own clothing.
