A wonderful project for newbies is this basic quilted pillow project. Any kids who have basic sewing skills should be able to accomplish this beginner friendly project, and it is a variation of the first project all kids do when they come for my after school classes!
Due to social distancing, all pick ups are placed on the stoop at the studio in a bin for you to grab from. I do not need to be at the studio for you to pick up your order.
Each kit includes enough precut strips for each student to make a small pillow (everyone will be getting a pretty variety of cool colors) and a fat quarter of fabric for the back of the pillow. I apologize, but at this time I do not have enough stuffing for everyone to get fill for their pillow. You will need a sewing machine, thread, pins, scissors, and a pencil and a ruler to create your pattern. An iron is very helpful, but not 100% necessary. Your kids use the iron at the studio while supervised, and it’s many of the kids’ favorite tool, so maybe let them try it at home, too!
