Let’s turn some basic cotton clothesline into a useful basket or bowl for our home. This project requires no cutting and nearly no pinning, but it will challenge your hands to sew something other than fabric!
**All students must wear a mask when attending classes at the studio**
This an adult class.
Prerequisite: Our Intro to Sewing Workshop (or equivalent private lesson) or the ability to confidently thread and work a sewing machine. This is a beginner class, that will challenge you at first and once you get into the groove, you’re golden!
Skills Covered: Sewing rope to form a basket, tools required to stitch heavy weight items.
Materials Needed: 1 large spool (250 meters) of All Purpose Polyester Thread you would like to stitch your bowl with, as this is visible both in and outside the bowl. Optionally, you may bring scraps of fabric to wrap various parts of the rope with (or use some of ours!) These are the stripes of color you see layered in the sample photo.
Materials provided: 1 package of cotton clothesline appropriate for a small to medium sized bowl. (a $18 value)
