If you like to take your projects out and about with you or just enjoy being well organized with your WIPS (work in progress) a project bag is a necessity! Throw in your knitting, crochet, embroidery or that last bit of hand sewing you need to finish up. Join Mandy for this afternoon workshop and stitch up your own project bag out of whatever cute fabric makes you feel inspired, including inner pockets, a drawstring closure and a handle!
This bag comes in three sizes: SM is 10 x 6.5 x 3.5 M is 12 x 8.5 x 4.4 and LG is 13.5 x 10 x 5. Sample Shown is Medium Sized.
This is a beginner/advanced beginner Adult class.
Prerequisite: Our Intro to Sewing Workshop (or equivalent private lesson) or the ability to confidently thread and work a sewing machine.
Skills Covered: Cutting fabric, following a pattern, creating a boxed bottom, lining, creating a drawstring tunnel.
Materials Needed (all registered students get 15% off in our shop!)
For Small and Medium Sizes:
- Main Fabric A: one Fat Quarter or 1/4 yard quilting cotton
- Base Fabric B: one Fat Quarter or 1/4 yard quilting cotton
- An additional 1/4 yard of fabric A or B for the drawstring channel. quilting cotton
- Lining fabric: 3/4 yard quilting cotton
- Interfacing: 1 yard medium weight fusible, like SF101
- Drawstring: 2 1/4 yard
For the Large Bag:
- Fabric A: 1/2 yard quilting cotton
- Fabric B: 1/4 yardquilting cotton
- an additional 1/4 for the drawstring channel quilting cotton
- Lining: 1 yardquilting cotton
- Interfacing: 1 yard medium weight fusible like SF101
- Drawstring: 2 1/4 yard
Materials provided: The project bag pattern by Kandou Patterns (a $8.50 value) and all machines and tools needed.
