Event Details

Spend a Tuesday morning with us and learn how to make an origami style tote bag! This bag will surprise you with it’s construction technique while also teaching you simple techniques like french seams and how to hem edges of fabric.

Prerequisite: Our Intro to Sewing Workshop (or equivalent private lesson) or the ability to confidently thread and work a sewing machine. This is a Beginner Class.

Skills Covered: Pinning and cutting fabric, sewing french seams, hemming fabric.

Materials Needed:

-You need 3 different fabrics for this bag. Quilting Cotton is appropriate, but if you would like a sturdier bag you may purchase denim, linen, canvas or home dec fabric. Purchase three Fat Quarters OR three 1/2′ yard pieces.

-1 spool of matching all purpose polyester thread.

Materials provided:  All sewing machines and notions.
