Event Details

A perfect gift for the man (or little guy!) in your life: a handmade neck tie! This is a fun project to pick a pattern or fabric that really suits the personality of the wearer: it can be made in simple quilting cotton or funkier fabrics like corduroy and brocades. This is a class geared towards beginner sewists because we are making a simplified version of a necktie…no silks here!

This is an Adults Workshop.

Prerequisite: Our Intro to Sewing Workshop (or equivalent private lesson) or the ability to confidently thread and work a sewing machine. This is a Adult Beginner Class.

Skills Covered: Cutting on the bias, sewing a necktie.

Materials Needed:

1 yard of outer fabric- can be any sort of medium weight fabric from quilting cotton, chambray, brocades, denim, etc.

1 yard of lining fabric

1 spool of matching all purpose polyester thread.

Materials provided: Necktie pattern for men, tweens or kids, various ribbons for the stay loop at the back of the tie, all sewing machines and notions.

Sample photo is by Made Every Day, who’s pattern we will be using in class.
