Join Mandy for this weekend workshop to cut and sew the Mathilde Wrap Dress/Peplum by Untitled Thoughts! It is will be July 10 and 11 from 10-4. This knit fabric pattern is great for Advanced Beginners who feel comfortable at a sewing machine, may have sewn a garment or two already and would like to get some experience sewing knits. It can be made as a peplum top, a dress at knee or tea length and with 3/4 or flutter sleeves. Plus, the dress length has POCKETS!
This pattern goes from a size 0-30 and includes both B and D cup bodices, so everyone can get a great fit! *We now prep your pattern before class to allow you to get right to cutting and sewing! We will need your accurate measurements, so if you need to stop into the shop for us to take them please make time to do so!*
This is an Advanced Beginner Adult Class for ages 16+
Prerequisite: Our Intro to Sewing Workshop (or equivalent private lesson) or the ability to confidently thread and work a sewing machine, plus a handful of projects, ideally including some garments.
Skills Covered: Precautions to take when cutting knit fabric, finishing a neckline with single fold bias, pockets, sewing knits.
Materials Needed (all registered students get 15% off in our shop!)
- Light to medium weight knit Fabric with at least 20% stretch in one direction. We recommend natural fibers (cotton, linen or blends) for their stability. Jersey, interlocks with spandex, lightweight french terry, rib knits, modal knits are all appropriate fabrics. Julia’s sample is in cotton interlock, Mandy’s is in a cotton/spandex jersey, both in the shop! Shop our knits here!
- 2 yards of 1” single fold bias tape
- All purpose thread to match
Materials provided: A prepared print out of the pattern in your size, all tools and sewing machines.
